Thanks Den for posting that. I'm sure you will tell us the science behind this instrument. Magnetism and electric currents?

I have found a couple more YouTube clips of this instrument being played. The first is very appropriate as we have just had this song for the March 2020 Challenge!

THEREMIN - Over The Rainbow

I suppose like any instrument without any frets to determine notes accurately (eg. a violin) there are some players who hit the right notes better than others. This one not so good, I fancy.

Now, how about something classical? He's pretty accurate with the pitch of his notes. A pleasure to listen to him.

Debussy - « Clair de Lune » on the theremin

It's all about the music. Organ: Yamaha AR 80

On the earlier recordings of 'Midsomer Murders' a Theremin can be heard being played towards the end of the introductory music. .. Fred

The kit to build this cost $A99 from Jcar Au. Can be bought over the net. Not easy to play but fascinating to watch. Regards,Den.

Hi

A Theremin is definitely on my "wish list" of instruments to acquire.

Keep safe everyone. It's very strange not having to go out to play at church this Sunday.

Every Blessing
