Hi Roy,
There are two types of Audio file,
.WAV and
.MP3. Box will accept both, but it is better from the 'size' point of view to upload them to Box as MP3. MP3 are smaller, compressed files. WAV files are 10x as big, but have the quality suitable for putting on a CD. An MP3 is what is required for music to listen to on the internet.
Your Genos will record as a WAV file, so when you have transferred the WAV file to your computer you should really convert it to MP3. I do this using Audacity. I 'Open' the file in Audacity, and then Export it (ie. Save it) as MP3. But there are 'bespoke' programs that will convert from WAV to MP3.
I have had this from Eileen:
To record in Audio all Roy has to do is Press the MENU button and select Page 2; then select Song Record. Now on this page he just selects Midi or Audio. Audio will produce a WAV file which will then need to be converted to MP3 if he is going to post it on a forum.
Eileen doesn't say how she converts her WAV file to MP3.
And I have had this from George, who also has a Genos:
Making recording is easy on the Genos you have a Record button on the left of screen. Press that and it takes you to the Record screen. Press the Quick record button on the right (not the left) and that takes you to the Start screen. All you have to do is press Start, then Stop when you have finished. I then COPY and PASTE to a USB stick (Memory Stick), then put it on my computer. I have a WAV to MP3 converter which converts it to MP3. That's it.
Roy .. I reckon you could have a go at recording something on your Genos and get it onto a Memory Stick (USB stick) as a WAV (Audio) File. Transfer it to your computer, where you will be able to listen to it just by double-clicking on it. I'm sure one of us can help you with that last step of converting the Audio WAV file to an Audio MP3 file.
