Old Submission for 2017 Adam Audio Soundtrack Competition

Postby Max the Icie Owner » 15 Feb 2019 05:23

Hi,

Here's another old video, from 2017. Adam Audio had a competition where you were given a picture, and told to make a 30-second or less soundtrack that tells a story that you can get from the picture. Winners won things like monitors and headphones. This was what I submitted (didn't win anything sadly, but there are tons of people entering). Reverb trail makes it 34 seconds long, but I had checked with one of the staff at Adam Audio and they said as long as it didn't go over 35 seconds it'd be fine. So that's why this is so short. It was the point of the challenge. :)

"An Undecided, Far-Off Future"
"Questions, distance, undecided."

Recorded on my Motif XF8's sequencer, all in the box, audio to usb recording.

Curious if anyone gets that story out of the picture or not.

Hope you like it.

Hi Max,

Sorry didn't get the meaning of the picture but I thought the short piece of music you created was very good and sounded good to me.
Shame you didn't win , but better to have tried....

All the best, Brian007

Hi Max,

From your short composition (too short) I definitely get the picture of clouds building up and coming towards you. Not sure where the black box comes in, or even what it is meant to represent!

I don’t really know either. That’s why they had it as a challenge. I would have liked it to be longer too. That’s just what the guidelines were. My interpretation was that the person doesn’t know either, only like in a Star Trek scene something was happening unknown to him, hence something unknown that would affect the future. :?:
