Ave Maria (Schubert)

Now, I would agree totally with jackoj when he says:
playing without any style on the organ, I find you can give more of your own feelings into expressing it

.. particularly when it is a 'classical' piece being played. 'Expression' is not just 'loud' and 'soft', but 'fast' and 'slow' as well. You can do the 'loud' and 'soft' bit, but not the 'fast' and 'slow' if you are using a Style and have the rhythm going.

For those classical 'purists' amongst you this next piece is not going to do any 'wows' for you. One can ask the question, what is it that makes a piece 'classical'? Is it the melody, or the way it is played? Both, I fancy. But I remember the series called "Hooked on Classics" done by Louis Clark and the London Philharmonic Orchestra. I was hooked on that. So here is my 'classical piece' as a 'not so classical' piece.

The 'arpeggio backing' in the Style is one I have put in myself (ie. it's not one of the PARTS in the original AR Style).

Hi Hugh. Always like this one. Yours was a nice relaxing listen. I also have listened to Paul on you tube playing the chromatic Tyros. Worth a listen. Enjoyed it. John

Hi there I have played from the age of 13 and all my music is played in a sort of dance tempo style. Have worked in nearly all the North East clubs over the years. That gave me a good grounding. Cheers.
