Am I right in assuming that from the tyros 3 onward they were fitted with hard drives as standard ?

Yes Brian that is right. We now have a 500 Gb fitted in Tyros 5 and there was a 250 Gb fitted to the Tyros 3 and 4. The only thing you may want to purchase is flash memory if using Yamaha voice packs or others.
