This is an old hit song from the 1950's (I think).

Before the wrong people got a hold of pop music.

I hope you enjoy this blast from the past.

John,

Liked the way you played that, with little twists in the melody. I noticed too that you added 'harmony notes' into the melody and didn't just play single notes all the time. Accordion is what I was expecting to hear, and that was what you gave us. A lovely piece to listen to!

I had a look for a YouTube video of this song sung by Max Bygraves, which is the one I remember .. but the two versions I found were in MONO and really not worth listening to. But whilst looking, I came across this one, sung by "Wilma" (Landkroon) in the Olympic Stadium in Amsterdam in 1969 and was completely smitten .. so thought I would share it with you.

Wilma - Tulpen aus Amsterdam ( live ) ( 1969 )

Comments from under the video:
This is so precious! She is absolutely adorable! One of my favorite old waltzes - Thank you.

Her voice is stunning, Really seldom for a kid of her age. Real as perfect as it can be. Idol singers today are far from such quality.

If you enjoyed listening to that, I have found another video of this talented young singer and posted it in Music Videos Member's Choice.

Hi John. A lovely version with that accordion suited the music. Must put it on my bucket list to visit although passport has ran out. I think it would be a spectacular sight. John
