Yamaha can always get something awry. The USB connections on the back of the SX900 are difficult to get at when the music rest is in place. I have put a short USB extension lead and stuck the end connection onto the panel face. 32 USB Plug and Stay is in one port at the back as a permanent H/D. The one on the front now is an easy removable USB connection.

Exact same place on the SX700 so as short fly lead as you are using is well worth the effort in the long run,
