Name That Tune

Postby Hugh-AR » 13 Feb 2017 10:48

I know this has been done before, but let's have another go.

Anybody can post a tune (or part of a tune .. giving us all of it will be too easy!) for people to guess. For obvious reasons, don't put any reference to the tune in the file name you are uploading to Box!

If you know the answer, don't post it in here! Others will see the answer before they have had a chance to listen to it! I have started another post where you can put your answer. So click this LINK below and put your answer as a REPLY in that.

http://tierce-de-picardie.co.uk/viewtop ... 152&t=5120

And if you can contribute a tune for people to guess, REPLY to this posting, put Name That Tune No: (whatever we have got to) at the top of the posting, put in your LINK to Box .. and put the questions you want answered.

Two very well known 'classical' pieces, played on a piano.
Name each of them, and the composers
Listen closely. No, they are not the same tune!

Now this well know Waltz appears to have two 'titles'.

Who composed this piece originally, and in what year? What was it originally called, and what is the English translation of it?

The piece was subsequently used for a film. What was the name of the film, what was the name of the song (it was given a different name from the original), and who sang it. Which year did this piece reach No: 3 in the Charts?

You can open up all five with a right-click and choose New Tab; then go and listen to them.
