Hi Ken,

Using the expression pedal is important. You need an expression pedal to put 'life' into your music. Organs come with them anyway, but with keyboards you have to buy them separately. They are called 'volume' pedals, and on keyboards you can choose which parts of your setup you control. Eg. Everything (as with an organ) or maybe just a voice or two, like a trumpet or trombone.

So many keyboard players don't have a volume pedal, and often play their keyboards standing up, so no 'expression' put into what they play.
