Music at Wolston - 31/01/2021

Hi

It's that time of the week again. Here's this week's selection. The second song is from my archives, the remainder are new recordings - including an organ & piano duet. (There would have been 2, but "finger trouble" with the multitrack audio recorder meant that I managed to overwrite the other one!)

We start with a Meditation on "I Need Thee Every Hour" by Dutch organist & composer Martin Mans. This looks pretty simple on paper - but playing it is another matter. Most of it is fairly easy, but there's a couple of places where you have to hold one note through chord changes in the left hand, and a couple of interesting jumps too - plus the octave pattern in the pedal part at times.

The first song speaks for itself

The second song continues the theme

We follow this with a hymn I've known for many years.

The service closes with another hymn I've known for decades, by Fanny Crosby. It reminds us that God will guide us if we let Him.

Enjoy

Every Blessing

Tony

Hi Tony. Enjoyed my Sunday morning listen. It’s cold with a light covering of snow. Remember the first one. Liked the piano for the remainder. The last one a nice variety with the addition of the organ. Keep safe and well and hope your vaccination goes well. John

Rev Tony, nice, nice. Meditation is amazing; "I Serve a risen Saviour" is awesome. Nice.
