Hymns for Remembrance Sunday 2020

Hi

Just 2 hymns this week, plus a repeat of a recording I made many years ago on a real pipe organ. (Next week will be a bonanza with, if all goes to plan, no less than 10 hymns/songs for a Songs of Praise service!) Anyway, here's this week's offerings. No Remembrance Day service would be complete without this hymns:-

The other hymn is a prayer dating from the 16th Century, set to music by H. Walford Davies.

And finally, my archive recording of "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" played on the small Spurden-Rutt pipe organ in Burnham-on-Crouch Baptist Church in Essex.

Have a good week.

Every Blessing

Tony

I liked the hymns. I especially liked the velvety sound of the Spurden-Rutt pipe organ, of course the music and the interpretation help a lot. Very good. 8)

Thanks Carloss

Spurden-Rutt were a fairly small firm of pipe organ builders, mainly church organs but they also made a handful of cinema organs. Many UK organists think them inferior to other builder's work, but I liked the organ at Burnham Baptist - small, but well voiced and surprisingly versatile.

Every Blessing

Tony
