Hymns/songs for 12th July.

Hi

As usual, my music for church. I heard in the week that reopening is being delayed until September, so a few more weeks of recording to come.

First up is an opening instrumental track from 2013. It's an arrangement of "Let all mortal flesh keep silence" played by Sue, my late wife & myself. This Sunday would have been our 51st wedding anniversary, and this is in her memory.

The first song comes from the Salvation Army tradition - a short (4 line) chorus. Our minister asked for an instrumental section between 2 repeats, to enable people to think about the words. I've just improvised around the song's chord structure, with a few fragments of the melody to keep things on track.

Next is a well known hymn.

The closing hymn

I've actually recorded a closing voluntary this week - a recent organ work, based on the melody of Graham Kendrick's "Shine Jesus Shine". Enjoy. (I've simplified the pedal part a little in places)

Every Blessing

Tony

Hi Tony. Another good varied selection. Only new the second one. A rousing powerful fanfare finish. Thanks for sharing your special day with you and Sue playing a nice treat most enjoyable. All the best. John

Hi tony,

Yes, glad you put that first one up. A lovely memory for you. Then for the others (except one) you are playing my favourite organ.

Hugh

Thanks Hugh

I've actually got next Sunday's music early (our minister is moving house next week). It's all fairly contemporary music this time, and all the congregational stuff will be on piano. I might do a bonus track on organ if I can think of anything that fits (and I can play!)
