Hymns for the Sunday after Easter

Postby Rev Tony Newnham » 17 Apr 2020 08:01

Hi

Here's 4 hymns that I recorded for my church's worship material this coming Sunday. I've used my Viscount Envoy 35FV organ, and also, by way of a change, there's one played on my (very basic) Korg digital piano plus a contribution from the strings orchestral sound from a Viscount Cantorum V. The final hymn was recorded on my Nord C2D in Hammond Organ mode - must practice on it a bit more and remind myself more of using the drawbars more effectively (it's been quite a while since I played it, and even longer since I've played a big Hammond)

Crown Him with Many Crowns

I Will Sing the Wondrous Story

Simply Trusting Every Day

Enjoy

Every Blessing

Hi Tony Another fascinating watch. I would have no idea where to begin. You seem to enjoy playing all the organs and keyboards. I remember 1. and 3. And could singalong. The title of number four about sums me up the arrow over it made it look like Rusting. Enjoyed my listen keep them coming. All the best. John

Hi Tony,

I enjoyed listening to those. As I think I have said before, I sang bass in a choir when at school in Kenya (they had a Electronic Organ there, not a Pipe Organ) .. and both my uncles were vicars, one in Langtrree (Nr. Torrington in Devon) and the other in Bexhill-on-Sea in Sussex, so joined their choirs when I visited them. I also have a cousin (Lawrence Wallington) who sings in the choir in Westminster Abbey. We always look out for him when they televise a service there.

Again, I like the sound of your Viscount Envoy 35FV organ. And the Korg digital piano sounded good too.

Thanks for posting.

Thanks Hugh

We used to live in Brede (between Rye & Hastings) so went to (or through) Bexhill quite frequently.

I'm very happy with the sound of the Envoy. The Korg came over better than I thought it might, but then I'm spoiled with having a vastly better Technics digital piano at church (but them, it cost more than 3 times the price of the budget Korg!) and having in the past played some very nice acoustic pianos, including a Bluthner Grand, and a Bosendorfer Imperial no less (neither were mine).

Every Blessing

Tony
