Easter Sunday music

Postby Rev Tony Newnham » 12 Apr 2020 08:36

Hi

Here's the pieces I've put together for our "service" this morning. Enjoy

First up is a transcription of Handel's Hallelujah Chorus, played on a Debain Harmonium in concert a good few years ago. (Apologies for the audio on this one, it's from a rather old camcorder).

Next is the hymn that's probably most associated with Easter, "Jesus Christ is Risen Today, Hallelujah!"

And to conclude, "Thine be the Glory" - tune by Handel once again.

The last 2 pieces are played on my Viscount Envoy 35FV digital classical organ.

Every Blessing

Tony

Hi Tony. Fascinating watching you play those instruments. I wouldn’t know where to start.Had a chance to singalong to them as I remembered them from my choir boy days probably sixty years ago. Enjoyed them all. Watched the service from Kings last night. Most enjoyable. Thanks for sharing. John

Hi Tony,

Thanks for posting those. Your Viscount Envoy 35FV digital classical organ certainly makes a very good recording. A very strong, clear bass and a wonderful 'Church Organ' sound.

Hi

Thanks for the comments. The Viscount is a church organ, and in my opinion, their "Physis" technology on their mid-range & Regent custom organs the best simulation out there currently. For me, with a classical training, it's ideal, but I'm fortunate to have a couple of other organs, a Nord C2D (a Hammond clone) and the Yamaha HS8 visible in the background of the videos, and which I need to try & get to grips with soon.

Every Blessing
