Musicmakers club 6/9/2021

Postby JohnT » 07 Sep 2021 07:11

Hi Everyone. At last we finally got back to our music nights.Members started arriving at 6.30 pm and were still there at 9.30pm. . There were fourteen present and were all very enthusiastic to play and swap stories. Thanks to Dave who brought his Genos which was loaded with over 14,000 tunes and was most helpful with the set up. Thanks to Les for bringing his Tyros1.
Thanks to Dave, Bobby, GeorgeW, GeorgeR, Sue, Les, and of course Michael who played and sang. A little extra by Bobby playing and Michael impromptu singing along with Maureen. It was most enjoyable.
The next night is Monday 13/9 starting at 6.30pm. There will be a Genos,Tyros1, and a kn7000.
All the best. Hope to see you there. Keep safe and well. John

John,

So glad you have got your club up and running again. That's really positive. Our Organ and Keyboard Club in Weston-s-Mare has been running for two meetings now (we have one meeting per month) and just over 40 attended (15 of those were 'Guests'). We have a Membership of over 60. As we have to pay for the hall, and pay for the Artiste who comes to play for us (and then there's insurance to pay for) we do make a slight loss with only having those numbers. The entry fee is £7; and we have a raffle that helps to boost the funds.

I think your club is just brilliant. You get to chat about keyboards and pass on to each other hints and tips on how to play. None of that happens in our club .. in fact I would say that very few of the Members actually play an instrument. They just like listening to music played 'live'. I put out an invitation to join the Tierce-de-Picardie Forum in one of our Newsletters. One person joined (Tony D).

Hi Brian and Hugh Thanks for replying. A really good bunch of people enjoying the music. It is always a pleasure to hear them play. Lots of variety in their performances. Long may it continue. John
