Hi James,

I haven't made a comment yet on what you have done here so thought I would do so. Splitting your screen up into two areas is a brilliant idea! I can see that when explaining how to do something on a keyboard you can put step by step instructions on how to do it on the left hand side of the screen, and have a pictorial representation of what you are doing on the right. As you know, in the TDP Forum I put up explanations of how to do things which are in the form of an explanation with inserted pictures. But I couldn't use this format to put my explanations up on YouTube .. and YouTube would reach a much wider audience.

Most of the videos I have come across on YouTube explaining how to do things have a narrative to go with it. I think that when you watch a 'video' you would not expect to watch it in silence. Those that don't have a narrative always put background music to the video. Are you planning to do a narrative with your videos, with 'bullet points' in the area on the left to emphasize what you are saying? That would be good.

And finally, the scrolling across the top. Anything running across the top will detract from the main message on the rest of the screen, so I reckon you should only have that running across the once, conveying your message .. and at a point when one isn't concentrating on anything else on the screen.

Hope these comments are helpful. You did say "Let me know what you think."!

Hugh

The feedback is helpful and will take on board, but this is a work in progress and a lot of experimenting, as I have also been uploading videos to TikTok I have change the format to vertical. Different platforms see to get different results.

As to the scrolling text again it was an experiment but can be turned off.
