Happy Xmas ( own composition ) 2019

Postby Brian007 » 13 Feb 2020 18:01

Hi ALL,

Roundabout last Christmas time I only had two Synths a Modx6 which I still have and Roland which I have since sold and bought the SX700 as a replacement. I composed this for a challenge on one of the other forums I am a member of, so this played on the Modx6 so no auto accompaniment all just used the built in drum loops a other presets on the Modx . so here it is ,

Hope you enjoy this unseasonal offering,

All the best, Brian007

Hi Brian,

Liked how you did that .. starting off with a standard chord progression (C, Am, Dm, G7 if played in C) and putting a catchy melody to it (were there WORDS to this?). Then for the middle bit you had some way out chords, almost a change of key. And then very cleverly brought the song back to the original key and chords.

Hi Hugh,

Thanks for having a listen and commenting , the story behind this is, It was for a Xmas challenge on Keyboard Players forum , so what better tune to pinch the chords for than George Michaels "last Christmas" so the verse is just the chords to that song the Chorus was where I got a bit creative and got lucky with moving into a parallel key and then back to the original again :D

All the Best Brian
