Nun danket alle Gott

Postby Rev Tony Newnham » 13 Jun 2020 10:55

Hi

A real barnstormer! This piece by German composer Sigfrid Karg-Elert is based on the hymn tune that we normally sing to "Now thank we all our God". The tune is rather well hidden!!! Apologies for the less than perfect performance.

I've managed to add a window showing the pedals to a couple of segments of this (and found yet another less than helpful "feature" in the video editing software whilst working out how to do it!). It shows some of the pedal techniques mentioned in another recent post, but please bear in mind I do what works rather than what is technically correct - partly due to arthritis. My organ teacher would be horrified! But the bottom line is, if it works then it's right.

Every Blessing

Tony,

I did see in your post in my topic Playing the bass pedals on an organ that you were going to try to put up a second camera so we could see you playing the bass pedals. So thanks for spending the time doing this. We can see clearly in your video that you have pedals that come right under your seat, and that's a great demonstration of how you 'toe and heel' .

I have put your video up in my Topic on playing the bass pedals, here:

Hi Tony. Fascinating watching the video. Would have no idea what to do. Yes the tune is well hidden. The feet were quite nimble. Enjoyed your performance. John

Hello Tony, Since I sold my Lowery Symphonic Holiday for a Yamaha keyboard about 12 years ago, my left foot still goes out to hit a pedal occasionally when I am playing my T4. Thanks for posting. Regards Den.

I know the feeling Den. I'm hoping to feel up to adding a spare pedalboard (only 13 note) to the Viscount Cantorum - maybe later today.

Nice and hard to play. Of course, it requires years of study. It is very good to see and hear cool Rev Tony
