Trumpet Tune by John Stanley

Any recordings you have done that could be described as Classical, post in here.
Includes pieces one would only loosely call 'Classical' as they depart somewhat from what the composer intended.

Trumpet Tune by John Stanley

Most classical trumpet pieces were written in the key of D.
Here is one called Trumpet Tune, composed by John Stanley
Stanley was born in 1712 and died in 1786.
I have played this in the key of D, the key it was written in.
Regards, Don

Hi Don,

Great sounding trumpet. You have played that piece beautifully! I presume that you have put this up to illustrate the point that Classical trumpet pieces are usually played in the key of D.

Hi Hugh and Fred
Thanks for your kind remarks
As you say Hugh, it is a fine sounding trumpet,
but we have Yamaha to thank for that
