Hi Don,

A very nice sounding 'church organ' piece. I presume you must have recorded this playing the organ in Westminster Abbey?

I have seen from your profile that you are a 'pipe organ' man so know which 'stops' to use to get the sounds you want.

Hi!
Havn't posted any classical lately so here is one to change that.
It's by Vivaldi Concerto in C Maj.complete with drums. I don't think he would have approved Ken

Ken. That was something different. And I liked the drums (Vivaldi would have, too). When you play the two 'parts' together, is one played with the pedals? Or are you just repeating what you are playing on the lower on the pedals, as the pedals seem to follow the melody as well. Hugh

Hi all,

Here's another from me. 'March Of the Bowmen' from the Robin Hood Suite composed by Frederic Curzon (1899-1973). Curzon was a Cinema Organist.

Hi Don,

A beautiful piece, beautifully played with choir and organ. Thanks for posting.

I have come across Clair de Lune played on piano by Victor Borge, and orchestra. I only know Victor Borge as a comedian, but this piece just goes to show that he is also a really talented musician.

Hi all,
The Adagio from Rachmaninoff's Piano concerto No2.This was used in the soundtrack of Brief Encounter. It's a bit long but there was no way you could shorten this piece

Hi Tony,

I am not usually a classical music person but have to admit to enjoying listening to that very much,
and I sure you enjoyed putting it all together as the end result was definetly worth it.

Tony,

I am beginning to see what this multi-tracking is all about. It is like being in charge of an orchestra, where different instruments come in at different times, and together they blend into a single piece of music. This obviously lends itself to playing classical music, as you have done here. A really enjoyable piece of music to listen to, and I always enjoy hearing a piano taking centre stage.

'Something Classical' is a theme that could go on for ever as there is so much that would fall into this Category. So we have created this new Board in the Music Room called Classical Corner to continue postings along these lines. So instead of adding another recording to this Topic, please post your recording as a NEWTOPIC, putting the title of the piece into the Subject line. And it doesn't have to be strictly 'classical'. 'Vaguely classical' would fit the bill too.

Hugh

PS. We have not 'locked' this topic so you can still make comments about the music above, but anything new please put up as a NEWTOPIC.
