I have found this video by David Bennett on the origins of our white and black notes quite fascinating! Funny how we take what we see in front of us for granted, but of course the way our keyboards are arranged must have started somewhere!

The title of his video doesn't exactly grab you as you would know the answer to that without even looking at the video! This is not just a video about the mathematical relationship between the notes .. there's a lot of history besides.

I found that most interesting. It reminded me that many years ago, while working at Clevedon, I used to hear monks chanting in a large house just off the front. Never been able to find it since. Just up the road from you, Hugh. Ken S.
