Brian,

That was a very good interpretation of Mac The Knife. Although to be honest, this is not really 'my kind of music'.

I prefer 'straight harmony'. Here is a clip from the Barbershop Harmony Society. Directed by Lori Lyford, THE TREBLEMAKERS of Chandler (Arizona) High School join international quartet medalists MAIN STREET in a delightful performance of "Lida Rose/Will I Ever Tell You" from the film The Music Man.

Wouldn't life be boring if we were all the same?

Hi Hugh,
Glad you posted it, I am always looking for something outside of the mainstream and I think
barbershop harmony qualifies. Unfortunately, I am not a fan.
I preferred the girl choir singing.

Continuing with the more unusual.
I didn't like olives the first time I tried them but over time, I grew to like them.
I do like this song and the Chinese opera singer Guo Lanying, like olives, has grown on me.
I have copied and pasted one of my old postings
Here are two versions of the Chinese patriotic song," My Motherland." The first performed by the famous Chinese opera singer Guo Lanying and the second by 6 year old Celine Tam.

I could listen to this wee girl all day long. I think that Guo Lanying is an acquired taste but after listening to a few tracks by her, her voice strangely started to appeal to my European ears.

Hugh,
I never thought about it but Kate Bush probably is the closest European voice to Guo Lanying. :)
