20 Minutes of Merit Hemmingson

Merit Hemmingson once described herself as a "music freak from the day she was born"

She was tutored at the piano from both Joe Zawinul and Lalo Shifrin.
She formed a band in the US with four black female jazz musicians, alto-sax, trumpet, bass and drums and Merit on the piano.

Merit left the jazz scene and found her real big "Love" the Hammond B3 organ ... she started the group Meritones, with which she made her first album in 1967.

I hadn't heard of Merit Hemmingson before. I think the music would have been really modern in the sixties but
I think this style sounds very dated now.
Brilliant organist but I don't care for the sound. I am not moaning, glad Mike has posted it up
I do love the song "Always Something There To remind Me" Not this particular version though.
Thanks for posting it Mike, music is always subjective,
one man's meat is another man's poison.
