Christmas Cards and Teeth

There is only tomorrow left before we finish the secular Christmas music and move from the commercial to the religious messages of Christmas. So as my BOGOFF special offer I am giving you two songs joined together today. The first is an orchestral version of the sentimental "An Old Christmas Card" and the second a theatre organ version of "All I Want For Christmas Are My Two Front Teeth."

There's an old Christmas card in an old dusty trunk
And it brings back sweet memories dear to me
'Though it's faded and worn, it's as precious as the morn
When I found it 'neath our first Christmas tree
I thrill with every word, every line
Guess I'm always sentimental 'round this time
Pardon me if a tear falls among my Christmas cheer
It's the memory of an old Christmas card
You know, I don't know why I get to feeling sentimental
About this time, every year
But every time I see a Christmas card
I somehow can't help reminiscing
About the very first Christmas that you and I spent together
What a beautiful Christmas card you gave me that year
Why I…

Every body Pauses and stares at me
These two teeth are gone as you can see
I don't know just who to blame for this catastrophe!
But my one wish on Christmas Eve is as plain as it can be!
All I want for Christmas
is my two front teeth,
my two front teeth,
see my two front teeth!
Gee, if I could only
have my two front teeth,
then I could wish you
"Merry Christmas."
It seems so long since I could say,
"Sister Susie sitting on a thistle!"
Gosh oh gee, how happy I'd be,
if I could only whistle (thhhh, thhhh)
All I want for Christmas
is my two front teeth,
my two front teeth,
see my two front teeth.
Gee, if I could only
have my two front teeth,
then I could wish you
"Merry Christmas!"

At first I thought this was a weird ' marriage ' of two disparate songs but was pleasantly proved wrong. Most enjoyable. .. Fred

Hi Keith,

A very interesting medley I suppose you could call it, and it was a nice easy and plesant to listen piece
well played and voiced and thanks for posting and educating me to all the obscure Christmas songs.

Hi Keith. Liked both versions of the tunes. Sounds were good. Nice to have an explanation and words to accompany them. John
