Mozart and Tennyson

Yesterday we had the combination of Rodgers and Hammerstein and today we have music by Mozart and words by Alfred Lord Tennyson. It is, of course , music of the late 1700’s whereas the words are on from 100 years later. To keep to period I have arranged this for harpsichord and recorder (blockflote).
A bit of stiffness and pain in my hands so please excuse occasional hesitancy - probably damp.

1. Ring out, wild bells, to the wild sky,
The flying cloud, the frosty light.
The year is dying in the night;
Ring out, wild bells, and let him die.
The year is dying in the night;
Ring out, wild bells, and let him die.

2. Ring out the old; ring in the new.
Ring, happy bells, across the snow.
The year is going; let him go.
Ring out the false; ring in the true.
The year is going; let him go.
Ring out the false; ring in the true.

3. Ring in the valiant men and free,
The larger heart, the kindlier hand.
Ring out the darkness of the land;
Ring in the Christ that is to be.
Ring out the darkness of the land;
Ring in the Christ that is to be.

Hi Keith.

Well I don`t really know this one at all, but you used a nice organ voice for it and it sound pretty good to me.
