Hi John, A very nice gentle rendition of that classic tune. The woodwind worked well.

I seem to be stuck in the middle of a book of folk songs at the moment. This one is appropriate considering the weather if nothing else. Written by Gordon Lightfoot I give you "Early Morning Rain" with pan flute and recorder lead instruments.

Off to an early start this morning, and how appropriate as you say with "Early Morning Rain"
not a tune I heard before, but it was a very relaxing and plesant number to start the day off with.
and a very nice pan flute thrown in to.

HI! John.
Very nice. I pictured you in the squires drawing room entertaining his guests. Were the ladies in their crinolines? regards Ken

Hi Keith and Brian007. Thanks for you kind comments much appreciated. John

Hi Keith. Seem to remember it in my distant past. A nice easy listen on this damp morning. Liked the choice of sounds fitted the music quite nicely. Just popping out to see Bobby with some music books for Nick. They are anchor books on chords which may help him back to playing keyboard. We wish him well. Hope you enjoyed your day out. John

Hi Ken. Thanks for listening to both my tunes and kind and interesting comments made. Yes we were all suitably clothed, but cold. Put another log on the fire. All the best. John

Hi ALL,

This tune starts off in 4/4 time and changes to 2/4 time, and as I am not clever enough to achieve that its played here in a 4/4 time 8 beat style form the tyros 5
and using of course the Pan Flute, so here is my version of " Sound of silence" which is hard as your heads telling you to change tempo but you cant ?

Hi Brian007. A nice version of the tune. Flute was a good choice. A nice relaxing listen. I had that one pencilled in for my next attempt if I had time. John

Hi Brian, That was a good attempt at The Sound of Silence. The lead voice was perfect and the 2/4 4/4 conflict hardly mattered.

Thanks to you all for all your kind comments so far. Ken and Brian regularly treat us to something classical and now John has joined in so I thought it was time for me to leave the folk scene and get serious. I had never heard of this one but stumbled over it in my Classical Fake Book. It is, however a rather lovely little tune so I have played it with a flute solo for the first time through and then an oboe leading harpsichord and vocals for the second time. It is the Berceuse (tender lullaby) from the opera Jocelyn by Benjamin Goddard. I hope that you enjoy it.

Hi All,

I have now got a cleft lip with all these woodwind instruments :D and my arms are killing me with playing the drums on this track :D
instruments used Pan Flute, Hammond Organ and Choir

So please give it up ladies and gentlemen for the Four Season and my version of " Rag Doll"

Hi Brian, Rag Doll was very enjoyable and brought back many memories but I was so sorry to hear that you had split your lip with all the blowing that I decided to give you something to suck on. Played above an accordion the first registration includes spit pipe, shakahushi, shaku flute and oboe. The second is english horn and piccolo. From a book of comedy songs I hope that you enjoy "When You Come To The End Of A Lollipop."
