Hi Ken, All Alone is certainly not a song I have ever played and I don't think I have seen the music. I know that I saw the film of the Desert Song many years ago but still do not recognise the tune. At one stage I thought that you must have affiliations to brass bands but then we were back with the strings. An interesting combination. Thanks for posting something different.

Hi John, I hope that my senior moment has passed. You know the one where i was confusing Do Re Mi with Edelweiss! Sorry about that. After a hesitant start you settled down and became more comfortable with the timing. A very pleasant listen. Keep the coming.

Hi! Keith.

Desert Song film was 1929 and the song, One alone on Broadway 1926. Bit before our time. This song was in the first music book I ever played under tuition. Thanks for your comments. Regards Ken

Hi Brian, Has the man flu turned into something more painful? A rousing effort for my Sunday morning listen which gathered strength as it went along and got my foot tapping. Will see if I can find something to post this morning.

Here is one appropriate for a Sunday morning. It is the prayer from Godspell entitled "Day By Day." I thought that this would be an Andrew Lloyd-Webber tune but it in fact by Stephen Schwartz.

Thanks to Brian and Kens for their kind comments.

I came upon this tune from "Oh What A Lovely War" earlier this morning. I knew nothing about the musical or the song but as it is Sunday and it is about soldiers and death the church organ seemed appropriate. On playing it it sounded like the sort of skipping song that kids sing in a school playground so I decided to mix the serious and playful in my rendition. I looked it up on the WWW and found that versions have been done by everybody from Gene Autrey to USA military bands and choirs. Anyway this is my take of "Old Soldiers Never Die."

Hi Keith,

Liked the organ sound very much, and you produced a good polished version of it,
For me it was like being in a church and listening to the organist playing something I had never heard before but I found it interesting and pleasant to listen too.
I still dont know where you find this stuff

Hi John and Brian, Thanks for the comments.

I do not think that this one should be so relaxing. It is another from "Oh What A Lovely War" and is called "When This Lousy War Is over." Some synths and a schlager style seem appropriate, or inappropriate depending on what sort of a show you think it was.

Hi John and Brian, thanks for commenting. I too felt that there was a hymny feel about it as sas the case with the "Old Soldiers Never Die."

Hope this is acceptable Roses from the South. A waltz tune from the film The Dark Knight Rises and performed in The Queens Lace Handkerchief a long time ago Regards Ken
