Hi Brian D, Well we are having a bit of everything with this Challenge. So nice to hear your medley of Scottish Folk songs and so well presented. Took me back to Parra Handy (spelling) as an old black and white TV serial - must be on for 60 years ago.

Well Brian007 you really nailed that one. Loved the choice of beguine as the rhythm and the registrations. Timing was spot on. Brilliant.
Can't wait for tune number three.

Hi Keith,
I know the Para Handy tales well, I believe the actor who played on the one you are referring to, was Duncan Macrae. There was a later series of "The Vital Spark" which I loved where John Grieve was superb as Dan McPhail the engineer.
Nobody knows where the name Para Handy came from it has been suggested that it could be the highlanders way of saying Peter Andrew (Andy).
Brian D

Hi Brian,
I will contribute on the challenge board when I can. I give the performance board priority because I get to choose which tunes I want to play. I also do a fair amount of practice on the piano, scales and excercises etc.
Even if I don't have time to post, I do listen to all of the contributions.

Your rendition of And I love her was excellent, you are really getting to grips with the T5 :D :D

Hello Challengers ...

Well what can I say, yet another successful challenge topic that is being supported actively by our members from the North East 8) A wide and varied selection of uploads has made this a very enjoyable topic to read and listen to ... I would like to say a big thank you to all who have posted their super performances ... not a 'duff' one in the lot .... until now that is

I have got two entries, the first is an old recording of a bond theme tune, 'From Russia With Love', performed on my old PSR-S900 https://app.box.com/s/90acdc0af757adf21cfd

The second is a new recording I did this morning of a tune that has been posted by other members on the performance board as both instrumental and a vocal ... the recording didn't go as planned unfortunately - I had intended to play a couple of verses at a slow to moderate pace and then quicken the tempo for the chorus returning to the original tempo to finish off ... however, I forgot to slow it down again and ended up playing the rest of the tune at the more lively pace   I think I got away with it :D :D

Recorded on the Tyros 2 ... 'Will You Still Love Me' https://app.box.com/s/56ddzwkk45o3a0uem0hgdwzsjym478tr

I hope you you enjoy my offerings as much as I have enjoyed listening all of your enteries ... great stuff guys - keep it up.

Hi Mike. Thanks for your kind comments. I always like a Bond tune and that hit the spot. I enjoyed your version, sounds suited the tune.
Enjoyed Will you still love me. A while since I heard it but liked the still. An easy listen. John

Hi Mike,

Liked your version of the bond theme which was very good, but the second tune " will you still love me " was outstanding in my books, always liked what Phil Spector
did and you certainly did it justice on that song. Many thanks for posting and supporting this section of the forum. Brian007 :D

Good to have you aboard again Mike and spreading the lurv around. Two excellent recordings and I thoroughly enjoyed them.

I have been a bit busy today but could not resist going to the theatre section for half an hour and have recorded a sort of medley of three love songs - "You made me love you, You're nobody until somebody loves you and And I love You So.

Hi Ken,

You played "I will always love you" very well and got some great sounds out of that organ enjoyed listening to it.

A fine performance of " I love you because " some real good voices coming out of that Tyros 4 of yours and an
excellent choice of style for backing. well played, ( will have to get some registrations off you young man )

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just a quick word as the songs are coming in thick and fast please don`t be afraid to duplicate a song that`s has already been posted
we are all individuals and play in different styles etc... so don`t be put off just because its been posted already lets hear you version.

Can't Help Falling in Love
I had a little difficulty playing this because the Elvis version is so ingrained into my mind that my eyes were reading one thing and my mind was relaying something else .
Maybe when you play it you will understand my confusion, :? :? :?
