Hi Keith. Not one I've heard you've certainly been looking around for something different. I could imagine the snow falling maybe not blue. Liked the sounds. Enjoyed my listen. I wish there were more postings. John

Thanks to those who have listened, and particularly those who have commented so far.

I have not sung this song since going on school rugby trips when it was a smutty song for adolescent boys. It is of course a rather nice folk song so please feel free to sing along to the "Foggy, Foggy dew."

Never heard it before in my life and I was a smutty boy but there you go,
I really enjoyed listening to it especially the guitar voice, well played.

Ah Brian you might well ask. This next song is my version of what I think must have been the worst produced recording of a very famous group. So bad that I am going to say that my version is better!! Do you know the band and the title?

Hi Keith. You are certainly finding a good mixture of weather. Remember Foggy but not the words. Rain I haven't heard but a pleasant tune. Nice mixture of instruments in both. Enjoyed my lisften .John

Ken,

Thanks for adding another song to this 'Challenge'. Some of those earlier recordings are no longer available, and I have indicated which ones with a comment in red .. including one of yours (which I gather no one managed to listen to anyway!). Autumn Leaves is one of my favourites .. could you play it again for us?

Foggy Day. Interesting bit of harmony .. or should I say dis-harmony, creating just the right amount of 'fogginess' in the piece.

Here's one from me. Well, if not actual weather, an indicator of weather to come (according to folklore).

Red Sails In The Sunset

Towards the end, I have put in a bit of counter-melody with the trumpet.

Hi Ken. Yes, it plays just fine. That's an interesting array of voices you have there. Thanks for posting it.

I have put up Eva Cassidy's version of this in Music Videos Member's Choice:

Brian. Love the 'moving pictures' in your video. This is easily the best piece you have played to date. Lovely 'soft' saxophone sound, and the piano sounds fantastic with it. The 'balance' you have between the various instruments is just perfect, and you have added in those extra 'parts' that make the piece so interesting to listen to. I could listen to you playing any time! Hugh

Hi Hugh,

Thank you very much for your feedback and pleased you enjoyed it,
Making a video is a whole new thing and there can be lots of work or it can be really simple
just depends how much time and effort you want to expend on it, may be worth doing a
tutorial on it sometime.

All the best, Brian :D

Ken,

Well! This is one of those recordings where I wish I could just transfer the Registration set-up straight over to my AR. You have a great sound there! No drums, no style 'backing'; just played 'straight' with melody on the Upper, rhythm chords on the Lower, and bass played on the Pedals. Three things going at once. You can pat the top of your head, go round and round on your tummy .. and pat yourself on the back at the same time.

Re: Christmas. At the Parish Church just down the road they were moving Christmas stuff about, and when I said to them that it was a bit early for Christmas, wasn't it? .. they said they were just clearing up from last Christmas!
