Hi Brian

I appreciate your post is quite old now, however just a word to say thank you.

How are you finding your MODX6 - is it difficult to understand.

HI Fred,

The Modx6 is great for what I do with it, which is gigging with my mates, You have great voices , endless mixing capabilities and effects and you also have access to additional voices online patches via there web site.
Basically I use it when there is a need for Brass / Organ / and Piano / strings in the tune we are playing , nice and light only 13 pounds in weight, no built in speakers , but line out straight into the PA system is fine,

You have a built in sequencer and audio interface for hooking up to a computer and DAW if you want too but it can get a bit complicated unless you do it all the time , you have a built in set list program for storing all your patches under the tunes name , I would say it is more of a live performance instrument unless you're very much into working with sequencers etc , plus you can create your own arps , but unless you buy the Modx8 the key-bed is rubbish IMHO ? it is definitely nothing like an arranger and should not be bought to use as one as it wont work , thats why I bought my SX700 one click of a button and you have a ready made band where on the Modx you can use built in presets a bit like style but not as good , so for gigging in a band, Great,

All the best Brian

Hi Brian

Many thanks for the detailed reply.
I appreciate that the 6&7 do not have the fully weighted key Bed like the 8, however i’m a little surprised you think it rubbish. I have never seen one never mind not been able to try one, so that info is useful.

Thanks again

Hi Fred

Its just the Key-bed that I think is rubbish the rest of the Modx6 is brilliant but honestly they are let down by the key-bed,
Pleased you found the info useful as I wasn't sure if you where considering a purchase of one

All the Best, Brian007
