Hi

Here's a quick video of the new range, may be OK for a new purchase but as an upgrade there doesn't seem a lot in it ? lets hear your thoughts

This keyboard is tailored more for the overseas market with its new S button. Better to wait for the completely new model which will probably come along in a couple of years.

Hi Eileen,

Yes that's apparently the market they are aimed at, good for anyone buying a new keyboard
but not enough for an upgrade from the previous model I would have thought

I did think about waiting when I purchased the 770 (£700). I'm so glad I didn't as I would have been bitterly disappointed.

£400 more than I paid for the 770 six months ago for what? Absolutely nothing. How many styles do you need considering every style from the Tyros is available for free. I couldn't pick out the super articulation voices I have now so I don't really need anymore.

I appreciate Yamaha are a business and need to make money but I would much rather buy a used 950 than go for either of these.

PS they still haven't changed the crap keybed!

Hi Steve,

Yamaha are in business to make money, and to be fair they offer a decent easy to use product, but my own personal opinion is they are a little like
VW cars, good but overpriced and are relying on their brand to sell their products,

There are equally as good keyboards out there if people are willing to give them a try.

I agree with you Brian. I wonder how many have been influenced by members like yourself? If we could only rely on visiting our local music shop to listen we'd have a problem in this neck of the woods.

Hi Steve,

Unfortunately Whitley Bay Organs is no longer trading in the North East, So its either Windows in the Metrocentre or Newcastle
or a trip down to Gear4music which is near York, That's where I went and tried the last keyboard I bought , and it was well worth
the trip good choice, good prices and helpful staff, Brian007
