Lollipops and Roses

Postby DonW » 26 Jun 2018 21:50

Hi all. Lollipops and Roses.
This one was originally sung as a waltz, but I have played it with four beats in a bar.
Regards, Don

Hi Don,

Just love the way you have played this. You said it was originally played as a Waltz. Much prefer your version with the four beats in the bar .. and the 'laid back' way you have played it. As I have said before, I'm sure there is no 'right' or 'wrong' way to play a song. It's all down to how you interpret it.

Here below is Jack Jones singing it, released in 1962 .. with the three beats in a bar.

And here is another version, not as a Waltz, but a real 'upbeat' version by Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass.

Hi Hugh ,
Thanks for those flattering words.

Good luck with the changeover.
I'm sure there will be no problem with you at the helm.
Regards Don.
