End Of The World

Postby Hugh-AR » 05 Jun 2018 10:39

Here's one I have always liked, The End Of The World. Originally sung by Skeeter Davis in 1962, and produced by Chet Atkins (something I didn't know).

In this version I have put into the Style I am using my own Bass PART, an 'arpeggio' PART, and a 'repeating piano' PART (which I bring in for the second bit). This is what I like to do with my AR .. adjust 'default' Styles to suit the piece I am playing.

Hi Hugh. A lovely version of this one. I seem to recall Cilla Black doing it. Nice choice of sounds. Hope it isn’t the end of the world. John

I didn't have the 'repeating piano' in my original recording so have replaced the recording with an updated one that does have the repeating piano. I have also adjusted the 'Pan' in the backing track and put the 'arpeggio' to the right, and the 'repeating piano' to the left. Not that you'd notice something like this, but I do as I played it! The LINK above is the same as before, but on my Box Account it now shows as 'Version 2'. They do that in Box. Any time you want to 'update' a track in Box, just use the same 'Title' and it replaces the MP3 with the new one and you don't have to go through the hassle of changing the LINK.

I wish YouTube would let you do this. All you can do in YouTube is Edit the wording that goes with the song, not the uploaded song itself.

Below is the original of this song sung by Skeeter Davis. The 'arpeggio' in her backing is quite prominent! Remember the hair styles the girls had in those days? Sprayed with lacquer so their hair was 'as stiff as a board'!

John,

Cilla Black's song was called "You're My World" which she sang in 1964. In this original clip the 'guitar backing' has that same arpeggio. The quality of this video is not as good as others I have found, but I really like how they backed this one.

My, my! Were are going through some oldies here! Like a blast from the past! And all in 'black and white'!
