Music Theory and Playing Tips

Postby papadeedee » 20 Oct 2017 18:44

Over on the Musical Observations board, in the theory section," Peter A " has put an excellent post "How to transpose your music into another key" using the Roman numeral system:

.. and Hugh has revived an old post from "Brian 007" in the Playing Tips section about "Chord Inversions":

I added a bit about Playing Position 1 and Playing Position 2 (not to be confused with first and second inversions.) These are good positions to play
extensions and alterations. To develop these ideas a bit further, I have started a tutorial on how to apply all of the above to
12 bar blues moving from the basic three chords onto more jazzy versions of playing a 12 bar.

In no way do I profess to be an expert on these matters but I enjoy passing on what little knowledge I have.
