Hi all - but probably mainly Mike for this one!
Over on Lowrey forum we were talking about Lowrey borrowing, or stealing, model names from other manufacturers. They've done it a lot in the past few years and their next model is Rialto, bringing back the name from the early 1960s Gulbransen. We wondered how prevalent this was and I was challenged to find out. So I have a database of names - just under 900, including repeats. All the major makes have been covered pretty well, so I'm on the lookout for the unusual, the smaller makes, the lesser known models, and so on.
I'm also trying to get the year that the name was first used by each make, so we can see who borrowed from whom! For example, I know that Kentucky 'morphed' into Antone, but in what year?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
As of yesterday, the most used names were 'Chorale' and 'Prelude'. Most appropriate, in view of the large number of Chorale Preludes written by J S Bach, and quite probably because of them!
Thanks
Andy
