NAMM 2013: Vibrato Sax Polycarbonate Saxophones

Postby Mike Bracchi » 02 Apr 2013 12:07

RPad.TV caught up with Vibrato Sax president Piyapat Thanyakij to talk about the company's polycarbonate saxophones.

Full article here: http://bit.ly/VVoKXm In addition to being waterproof, Vibrato Sax alto saxophones weighs around 1/3 of what a typical brass saxophone weighs.

They're a great choice for those just starting out, but are also a compelling choice for experienced musicians looking for a travel sax.

Jazz musician Reggie Padilla puts a Vibrato Sax through its paces to give you an idea of the sound.

Hi

I bought my wife a plastic clarinet a year or two back - called a "Clarineo", it's in C and makes quite a reasonable sound.

my son has a plastic trombone - not heard that yet.

every Blessing

One of the sax players I played with in the 60's had a plastic Alto sax. Very good tone!
