Den,

This is the first time I have seen this one, but as kids we always used to make our own Christmas decorations to hang up. That was half the fun of Christmas .. hanging decorations we had made ourselves. There were several different ones we used to do, and it was very satisfying to see how the various decorations blended together.

Everything we do nowadays comes already made from a shop. Mind you, it's still fun to have the house decorated for Christmas .. to put the tree up, put the lights on (in the old days they didn't always work, and then you had to track down which of the bulbs had gone!) and hang the tree decorations to somehow make the whole thing look pleasing and more or less symmetrical. Maybe even follow a 'colour' scheme.
